The Galapagos Islands, its landscape, the people, the biodiversity and the environmental issues
inspired Michael Ayala's art during the late 1990's and early 2000's. Volcanic
landscapes and the red and black lava were included in his paintings.
Rivers of volcanic liquids invaded his canvases and the heat of the sun
gave the cracked finishing to some of his paintings. The same natural and social elements are now the inspiration of his artwork in Australia. Dramatic landscapes, trasparent waters, unexplored forests, strange creatures and also social, environmental and political aspects of life are current motivations for Michael Ayala creation in Australia.
